Google Adwords is the program of Google, which is used to show ads on Google search engine results page for any query searched by users. Google adwords programme is run by everyone who wants to make business online.

Let’s start with Search Network campaign

Text ads

Most popular ad type is text ads. A text ad is being used by everyone. Text ads contain 25 characters headline, 35 characters line 1 and 35 characters in line 2 and text ad grabs user’s attention. Once users click on text ads, they are taken to landing page, which is called Display URL (Refer above image). You can also give more options along with text ads like Google Map Address, Mobile Number and certain important links. This is all done with Ad Extensions.

Headline - You can talk about your business, products and services you sell. (This should contain your main keyword).

Description Line 1 - Grab user’s attention (You can write about your business)

Description Line 2 - Grab user’s attention (You can write about your business)

Ad extensions (Refer above image) are also used to grab attentions of users and improve ad rank

Types of Ad Extensions:

  • Sitelinks extensions - Like with most AdWords extensions, ad sitelinks are a pretty useful tool and are typically valuable in any campaigns where they're eligible. The trick is really in how you implement them, or which sitelinks you show.

  • Location extensions - Location extensions in Google AdWords are an ad extension that allows for advertisers to show their business address and phone number along with their standard Search Network text ad.

  • Call extensions - Call extensions are a type of ad extension, an ad feature that allows advertisers to include additional information about their businesses and offering to their text ads. In the case of call extensions, this additional information is your business phone number.

  • App extensions - App extensions showcase your mobile or tablet app by showing a link to your app below your ad. Clicking on this link can either lead to your app’s description in the app store (Google Play or the Apple App Store), or simply begin downloading. Clicking on your ad’s headline will still lead to your website.

  • Review extensions - A review extension must be an accurate, current, credible, non-duplicative third-party review of the advertiser's business. Like the rest of your ad text, your review extensions must comply with all Adwords policies. Review extensions also are subject to additional requirements described here.

  • Call out extensions - Callout extensions allow you to include additional descriptive text in your standard text ad. The rules that apply to text ads generally apply to callout extensions, too. To ensure your extensions are accurate and appropriate, we also have additional requirements when using callout extensions, as shown below.

  • Structured snippet extensions - Structured snippets allow your ads to highlight specific aspects of your products and services. These ad extensions provide context on the nature and variety of your products and services before visitors click through to your site.

  • Automated extensions report - Above features are available in Google adwords systems.
